Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder affecting a person’s ability to control their muscles. Cerebral Palsy is caused by abnormal brain development or an injury in the part of the brain controlling movement. It can develop during pregnancy, labor, delivery or early childhood. Patients can suffer either Congenital Cerebral Palsy or Postnatal Cerebral Palsy. Congenital Cerebral Palsy means the condition developed prior to birth. Postnatal Cerebral Palsy occurs after birth usually as a result of disease, abuse or injury.
